A team that is passionate about cooking and strives for excellence, delivers delicious Bak Kut Teh to every customer.
Bak Kut Teh is a popular dish in Malaysia, Singapore and other parts of Southeast Asia, consisting of pork ribs cooked in herb and spice broth. “Bak Kut Teh” comes from the Hokkien dialect and means “meat bone tea”.
The origin of Bak Kut Teh is uncertain, but it is believed to have originated in Hokkien-speaking regions of China, specifically Fujian Province. The dish is thought to have been brought to Malaysia by Chinese immigrants who came to Malaysia in the 19th century to work in tin mines and plantations.

Then, they adapted the original recipes according to local tastes and ingredients, replacing pork belly with pork ribs, and adding local herbs and spices to the soup. They also cook the dish in clay pots over a charcoal fire, which gives it its unique flavour and aroma.

Gradually, Bak Kut Teh became a popular dish among the local Malaysian Chinese community and eventually spread to other ethnic groups and regions of the country. The well-known Bak Kut Teh restaurant “Botitle” located at PV 128 in Kuala Lumpur is a must-visit for foodies.
